** Recipient of Enduring Design Award - Most outstanding response to the needs of users across all areas, from the macro site context and planning to the micro detailed furniture **
A self-directed project that was determined by the chosen typology and social issue. The following topic statement was a guide for the extensive research and the development of the brief and chosen site. Sugar Walls intends to create a compelling environment to engage, educate and understand women's sex education in a way that is more relevant and captivating than what currently exists; whilst simultaneously creating a space that breaks down the existing stigmas and normalises women's sex education through celebration and conversation.

Following the research and chosen site, the aims and objectives of the brief were formed. These consisted of, Brisbane's first sex education hub, putting women at the forefront, and creating an experience for all. Additionally, creating a journey to normalising and redefining sex education and creating an environment that instigates a dialogue. The site was located at 20-22 Prospect St, Fortitude Valley.

The concept for Sugar Walls was born from the extensive research, the aims and objectives and the site. Living in a gendered world that favours males and the male body, Sugar Walls intends to rewrite the current gender bias within our environment. Sugar Walls is redefining the way women use and experience space through an immersive exhibition that aims to engage and educate users on women's sex education. The building will embody the normalisation and celebration of women's sex education through allowing the female body the right to exist.
