PLACE OF SPIRITUALITY

The new design for the proposed Place of Spirituality interior at The Whale Mall in Southbank is a space for Islamic religion in Brisbane and the Cultivate Calm Yoga group to use and congregate whilst also being inclusive to Brisbane's public as a space for pause and reflection. This has been reflected through Peter Zumthor's atmospheric qualities; sound, lighting and building layers.

The space is about taking the public on a journey of coming together whilst also taking care of yourself and self-reflection. This reveals the idea of both yoga and Islam through the atmospheric qualities and material used.
