THE GRAZING BARN HOSTEL AND
THE TIPSY COW HANGOVER BAR
INTERIOR DESIGNÂ -Â SECOND YEAR 2018Â
MICRO HOTEL AND COMMERCIAL SPACEÂ
** One of four students selected to present this design to Lendlease **
Using the existing building of the Royal Snack Bar located on King St in Bowen Hills, the creation of a micro hotel and commercial space was required. The requirement of the design was the application of Lendlease's four pillars defined as Modern History, Paddock to Plate, Hyper local and Urban Eclectic. The brief also necessitated inspiration to be drawn from innovative architect, Gary Chang.

My designs of the Grazing Barn Hostel and The Tipsy Cow Hangover Bar combines innovation with Brisbane's history allowing for a cultural yet futuristic experience for youths and backpackers.

The Grazing Barn Hostel design has been depicted from the history of the RNA Showgrounds and Ekka Show. The agriculture and wood chopping events have influenced the barn like interiors of the hostel.

The barn like design carries through to The Tipsy Cow Hangover Bar. The design included touches of the agriculture and wood chopping depicting the journey through the space - the check in desk, juice bar, oxygen bar, hazy stairs and the recovery area.
